Summary: The RNLI is seeking a Digital Optimisation Analyst for a temporary role focused on leveraging data analytics to enhance digital experiences and support the organization's mission. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the subject matter expert in Google Analytics 4, building and maintaining dashboards and reports in Power BI & GA4.
- Support the technical setup of GA4 and related tools using Google Tag Manager and Big Query.
- Analyze performance data to uncover insights and identify opportunities to achieve Digital KPIs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform priorities and improve digital experiences.
- Identify data-driven opportunities for improvement across the digital experience.
- Integrate multiple data sources for a cohesive view of performance.
Key Skills:
- BA or equivalent in analytics, computer science, maths, Data Science, or related field.
- Experience in insights and analytics environments (GA4, Power BI, Looker Studio).
- Experience with big data platforms (BigQuery is a plus).
- Knowledge of digital A/B testing and personalisation platforms.
- Technical knowledge of Tag Management Solutions such as Google Tag Manager.
- Understanding of cookies and experience with consent management tools.
- Experience with SEO and e-commerce performance reporting.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Curiosity to stay updated with digital analytics trends.

About The Role
The world of digital analytics is changing rapidly and, as our Digital Optimisation Analyst, you will play a vital role in defining how we use data to support the RNLI’s mission and growth for generations to come. You’ll work closely with our Digital team, fundraising experts, and water safety specialists. While the focus is on web analytics and optimisation of our websites, you’ll also drive how we combine multiple data sources to enable smarter, evidence-based decisions across the organisation.
Core Responsibilities
Act as the subject matter expert in Google Analytics 4, and build and maintain key shared dashboards and reports within Power BI & GA4, alongside the creation of a central sharing repository for reporting
Support the technical set up of GA4 and related tools using Google Tag Manager and Big Query
Support consent management and paid media tagging
Analyse performance data to uncover insights, highlight challenges, and identify opportunities to achieve our Digital KPIs and organisational goals
Collaborate within our cross-functional conversion rate optimisation teams to inform priorities, testing strategies and improve digital experiences
Utilise available tools to proactively identify data-driven opportunities for improvement across the digital experience, sharing concrete insights across the team and in relevant forums to trigger action and site optimisation
Identify opportunities to integrate and connect multiple data sources for a clearer, more cohesive view of performance
About You
We’re looking for someone inquisitive, collaborative and passionate about making a difference through data. The following skills would be advantageous, but not mandatory.
BA or equivalent in analytics, computer science, maths, Data Science, Big Data or another related field
Experience from an insights and analytics environment (GA4, Power BI, Looker Studio)
Experience working with big data platforms (BigQuery is a plus)
Experience in the process and delivery of conversion rate optimisation programmes
Working knowledge of digital A/B testing and personalisation platforms (Optimizely, VWO, Sitecore etc.)
Technical knowledge of Tag Management Solutions such as Google Tag Manager and proven ability to implement and manage paid media tags
Understanding of cookies and experience using consent management tools (e.g. OneTrust)
Experience with SEO, including analysing performance data and using insights to inform optimisation strategies
Knowledge of Shopify analytics and e-commerce performance reporting
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence with data
Curiosity to stay up to date with evolving digital analytics trends
