Digital Marketing DesignerLocation: New Scientist Headquarters LondonPosition: 6-month FTCSalary: Up to 40k per annum pro rataWorkplace: 9 Derry Street, Kensington, London W8 5HYJob IntroductionWorking as part of the New Scientist marketing team, the Digital Marketing Designer will work on creating clear and well-designed marketing collateral.The role will require you to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver marketing creative assets for several online and offline channels to be used for acquiring new subscribers, for communications to current subscribers and to promote our diversified revenue streams.This is an exciting time to join the team, with the opportunity to have immediate impact in bringing our brand and products to life and to gain valuable experience in marketing and design.Main ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the marketing team and actively contribute to marketing campaign ideation and be able to represent these ideas in a visualformat.Design and produce high-quality assets to be used across a range of offline and online channels including social media ads, website graphics, email campaigns, website ads and print collateral.Deliver marketing materials that resonate with our target audience, are visually appealing with a consistent visual identity and adhere to brand guidelines andstyle.Create engaging animations and motion graphics for various digital platforms, including videoassets.Work with the Campaign Marketing Coordinator to understand project requirements, objectives and deadlines.Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Stay up to date with industry news and competitor activity and incorporate best practices into design work.Undertake ad-hoc projects as and when required around other business priorities, such as merchandise development.Person SpecificationA creative mindset with a strong understanding of design principles.In-depth working knowledge of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.).Ability to create compelling animations and motiongraphics.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Meticulous attentionto detailStrong portfolio showcasing design and animation work.Excellent conceptual thinking skillsPositive, can-doattitudeProactive when respondingto briefsCapacity to be flexible and multitask.Proven ability to work effectively to tightdeadlinesEagerness to learn and stay up-to-date with design and marketing trendsABOUT NEW SCIENTISTNew Scientist is a magazine for the insatiably curious.
