Digital DevOps Lead
Summary: The Digital DevOps Lead role is a 12-month contract focused on leading a high-profile digital transformation program. The ideal candidate will possess extensive AWS expertise and a passion for driving automation and DevOps best practices within engineering teams. The role is hybrid, requiring 60% of the time spent in one of the specified offices in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery and support of AWS cloud environments and application deployments.
- Drive DevOps culture and engineering best practices across the team.
- Design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure.
- Implement and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD automation.
- Mentor and support engineers, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Lead complex technical workstreams and provide technical guidance throughout delivery.
- Support development and test environments while ensuring platform stability and performance.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation and deployment processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, operational efficiency, and platform reliability.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or DevOps Lead.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
- Expertise in Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or similar).
- Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, or container-based platforms.
- Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and automation skills.
- Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and working within Agile environments.
