Summary: The DevOps Support Engineer will play a vital role in ensuring the stability and reliability of cloud-based applications in the healthcare sector. This position requires hands-on support for AWS infrastructure and Python systems, focusing on delivering seamless service to clients across the UK. The engineer will respond to support tickets, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with internal teams to enhance system reliability. Effective communication with non-technical stakeholders is also essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and resolve incoming support tickets via Jira from external healthcare clients
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to AWS services and Python libraries
- Work closely with internal DevOps and engineering teams to escalate and resolve complex issues
- Communicate technical problems and solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential service disruptions
- Apply patches and updates to AWS-based environments as required
- Maintain accurate documentation of support actions, solutions, and outcomes
- Collaborate with wider teams to improve long-term system reliability and processes
- Assist in the handover process for new permanent hires within the DevOps team
