DevOps Support Engineer

DevOps Support Engineer Contract Cardiff (Hybrid - 3 days p/week in Cardiff)
£275 pday 12 months initially - potential long term project

A long-term DevOps contract opportunity for someone with a solid infrastructure background who wants to break deeper into automation and modern DevOps tooling. The rate will tell you that this is not a senior DevOps role a lot of the work is foundational, admin-level and will suit someone looking to grow into a more automation-focused position over time. If you have an Intrastructure and Scritping background and have an interest in moving toward automation and DevOps please consider applying for this one.

The Role:

• Support and maintain CI/CD pipeline infrastructure (basic-level work)

• Script and automate routine tasks (Python, Bash, PowerShell etc.)

• Work with version control systems (Git)

• Assist in building scalable infrastructure using Terraform

• Collaborate with engineering teams on firmware-focused projects (not a software product environment)

You ll Need:

• Strong infrastructure or sysadmin background

• Confident Scripting (Python preferred, but Bash/PowerShell fine)

• Experience with basic version control

• Exposure to Terraform or interest in learning

• Comfortable with hands-on support, troubleshooting and setup tasks

Nice to Have:

• Any experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Nexus etc.)

• Familiarity with firmware environments rather than software

• Interest in DevOps and automation as a long-term direction

Details:

• Based in Cardiff, 3 days per week on-site (hybrid model)

• £275/day

• 12 month contract initially with likely extension or opportunity to go permanent thereafter
