Summary: The Middleware Automation Engineer/DevOps role is a contract position based in Sheffield or Birmingham, requiring the candidate to work three days a week in the office. The position focuses on leveraging coding skills, particularly in Python, and experience with automation tools and practices within a financial services context. The contract is set to last until the end of November, starting on May 19, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and automate middleware solutions using Python and other scripting languages.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Utilize Kubernetes for automation tasks.
- Work with messaging products such as MQ and ACE.
- Adhere to Agile practices and coding best practices.
- Communicate technical aspects clearly to team members.
- Handle ambiguity in project requirements and deliverables.
Key Skills:
- Proficient in Python programming.
- Experience with Linux and Shell scripting.
- Familiarity with GitHub for version control.
- Knowledge of Ansible for automation.
- Experience with Kubernetes automation.
- Understanding of CI/CD processes and tools, particularly Jenkins.
- Knowledge of messaging products (MQ, ACE).
- Strong communication skills for technical discussions.
- Able to navigate ambiguous situations effectively.
