Job Description

Role: DevOps Engineer

Contract: 6 months

Rate: Inside IR35

Location: London (4 days on site)

Security clearance: Must hold Enhanced Security Clearance (eSC) active

About the role:

Are you a skilled DevOps Engineer with deep expertise across both Azure and AWS? We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and deploy secure, high performing cloud infrastructure for complex enterprise and regulated environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Automation: Build and maintain scalable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, alongside robust CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps or GitLab.
  • Cloud Architecture: Deploy and manage secure Azure and AWS enterprise environments, containerised workloads (AKS, EKS, Kubernetes), and hybrid networking solutions.
  • Security and Identity: Implement robust access controls, identity management (Entra ID, AWS Identity Center, Okta), and secure management/data planes for sensitive environments.
  • Observability and Reliability: Set up monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards using tools like Azure Monitor and Splunk to ensure operational readiness.
  • Stakeholder and Team Leadership: Act as a technical anchor mentoring colleagues, driving best practices, and communicating effectively with project managers, vendors, and clients

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Active Enhanced Security Clearance (eSC) - must have lived in the UK for the past 5 years to meet eligibility criteria.
  • Dual-Cloud Expertise: Proven track record delivering secure enterprise solutions across Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Strong DevOps Toolkit: High proficiency in Terraform, Python, GitLab/Azure DevOps, and containerisation platforms (AKS/EKS).
  • Networking and Compute: Solid background in cloud-native, IaaS, PaaS, hub-and-spoke virtual networking, and desktop virtualization (AVD, EC2, Azure VMs).
  • Enterprise Security: Deep understanding of identity platforms, privileged access management, and compliance within regulated environments.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to knowledge sharing and Agile delivery.
