Summary: The role of GCP DevOps Engineer requires a professional with over 6 years of experience, including at least 3 years specifically on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The position is based in London or Chester, UK, and involves a hybrid working arrangement with 2-3 days onsite. The contract is for 6 months and is extendable, with a competitive daily rate offered outside of IR35 regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Utilize Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
  • Work with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Write scripts in Bash, Python, or Groovy.
  • Manage version control using Git and GitHub.
  • Ensure adherence to cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Work with JSON and YAML configuration files.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
  • Proficient in scripting languages (Bash, Python, Groovy).
  • Experience with Git and GitHub for version control.
  • Understanding of cloud security principles.
  • GCP Associate Cloud Engineer certification.
  • Programming experience with Go (Golang) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Backstage, or Harness.
  • Knowledge of service mesh technologies (Istio preferred).
  • Advanced GCP certifications (Professional Cloud Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.) are advantageous.
  • Experience with AWS or Azure DevOps environments.
