Summary: The role of DevOps/Service Reliability Engineer involves developing standardized automation for managed services within a travel technology company. The engineer will also contribute to cloud migration efforts and incident resolution. This is a hybrid role, requiring on-site presence in Hounslow for 2 to 3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop re-usable, fault-tolerant automation in collaboration with stakeholders
- Assist developers in designing secure, scalable, and high-performance databases
- Contribute to ongoing cloud migration efforts (Azure)
- Drive incident resolution and problem management using automation and tooling
- Work independently on complex technical tasks and support junior team members
- Evolve existing applications and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Key Skills:
- Strong background in DevOps with software development skills (Python, C++, Go, GitHub/Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence)
- Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Azure cloud environments
- Proven track record in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana
- Hands-on experience with Oracle databases (OCA or OCP certification desirable)
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
