Summary: The role of DevOps Engineer involves managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure in AWS for a Financial Services/FinTech organization in Edinburgh. The position is contract-based for six months and requires hands-on experience in DevOps practices, particularly within the FinTech sector. Candidates should possess strong technical skills in cloud technologies, containerization, and automation, along with excellent communication abilities. The role operates in a hybrid model, requiring some on-site presence in Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure in AWS.
- Support a large and complex programme of work.
- Implement containerization and orchestration using K8s, EKS, and Docker.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps.
- Automate scripting tasks using Bash, Python, Go, and PowerShell.
- Ensure networking and security compliance with various AWS services.
- Collaborate effectively within a project team and work independently.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer.
- Experience in FinTech or small-to-medium Financial Services organizations.
- Deep knowledge of AWS cloud platforms and technologies.
- AWS DevOps Engineer certification (ideally).
- Containerization and orchestration expertise with K8s, EKS, and Docker.
- Familiarity with Helm Charts and Service Mesh technologies like Linkerd.
- Strong knowledge of Serverless Technologies.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps.
- Scripting and automation skills in Bash, Python, Go, and PowerShell.
- Networking and security knowledge with AWS services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Additional knowledge of tools like Dynatrace and ForgeRock is advantageous.
