Summary: The role of DevOps Engineer involves working on AWS technologies to develop and maintain cloud solutions, with a focus on security best practices. The position requires active SC clearance and NPPV3, and entails a hybrid working arrangement with travel to Birmingham. The contract is for six months, with an immediate start expected in June 2025. Candidates should have strong experience in DevOps practices and automation within a 24x7 AWS environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain AWS-based cloud solutions with a focus on security best practices.
- Provision infrastructure using Terraform and manage VMs with tools like Vagrant.
- Automate processes using configuration management tools in a 24x7 AWS environment.
- Utilize strong scripting skills for automation tasks.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Groovy script.
- Work with Docker containers and Amazon Linux 2023 AMI.
- Monitor systems using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and others.
- Manage incidents and changes using Git, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
Key Skills:
- Experience with AWS technologies (EC2, RDS, ELB, EBS, EFS, S3, VPC, Glacier, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS).
- Strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, PowerShell, Perl, JAVA).
- Knowledge of Jenkins and pipeline management using Groovy script.
- Experience with Docker containers and system monitoring tools.
- Active SC Clearance and NPPV3.
- Hands-on experience in DevOps delivery for digital or technology projects in government organizations.
- Linux system administration and MS Active Directory management.
- Understanding of network protocols and services.
