Summary: The role of DevOps Engineer requires an individual with active or recently lapsed SC clearance to manage secure deployments of analytical tools in a hybrid working environment. The position involves ensuring compliance with security standards, developing new features for the analytical platform, and collaborating with data engineers. Candidates should have strong technical skills in AWS, containerization, and CI/CD processes, along with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. This is a four-month contract role with a competitive daily rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage secure, scalable deployments of key analytical tools, including JupyterLab, RStudio, and VS Code.
- Ensure authentication, access controls, monitoring, and audit capabilities meet security standards.
- Implement robust CI/CD and environment management processes.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and digital colleagues for seamless integration.
- Extend the analytical platform by developing new features based on user requirements.
- Support user onboarding and refine the platform based on feedback.
Key Skills:
- Experience building infrastructure on AWS, particularly with Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS.
- Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitHub Actions.
- Ability to communicate clearly across different professions and write clear tickets and updates.
- Experience working on complex products and a government background is desirable.

DEVOPS ENGINEER - MUST HAVE ACTIVE OR RECENTLY LAPSED SC - HYBRID WITH FLEXIBLE WORKING - RATE £650-£675 PD INSIDE IR35 - 4 MONTH CONTRACT ROLE
This is a Hybrid role but the client are flexible on location and can either be Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Darlington, Edinburgh, Manchester or London. (Remote working is a possibility for the right candidate.)
Please note that they would prefer a Valid SC Clearance that can be transferred or recently lapsed
Role -
Manage secure, scalable deployments of key analytical tools, including JupyterLab, RStudio and VS Code.
Ensure authentication, access controls, monitoring, and audit capabilities are in line with the client and cross-government security standards.
Ensure robust CI/CD and environment management processes are in place.
Work closely with Data Engineers and wider digital colleagues to ensure seamless integration between tooling and data systems.
Extend the analytical platform, developing new features to meet user requirements such as dashboard hosting and AI applications.
Support onboarding of users and act on feedback to refine the platform for wider rollout.
Skills -
Experience building infrastructure on AWS, particularly with containerisation and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes and ECS.
Experience with EKS would be helpful.
Strong experience with Terraform, as the team's infrastructure is written as code and Terraform is the language used.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitHub Actions
