Summary: The DevOps Engineer - GSI is responsible for building, managing, and enhancing toolchains for the automated build, release, deployment, and testing of Grid Systems Integration products. This role supports the software development life cycle (SDLC) by implementing CI/CD processes and improving infrastructure for multiple concurrent releases. The engineer will also focus on scalability, efficiency, and quality assurance throughout the deployment process. Collaboration with businesses to develop deployment strategies and contribute to quality improvement initiatives is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and improve infrastructure for builds, releases, and CI/CD processes for multiple concurrent releases.
- Implement CI/CD build principles and write scripts to automate tasks.
- Manage and enhance the release process for scalability and efficiency.
- Deploy builds across various environments and integrate automated test solutions.
- Participate in integration tests to ensure quality criteria are met.
- Document procedures for building and deploying software.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives through best practices and standards.
- Identify and propose technology choices and analyze their impact.
- Assist in developing an overall strategy for code deployment.
- Contribute ideas to planning and strategy discussions.
Key Skills:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or STEM majors with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Proven experience in deploying and managing CI/CD infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and version management tools (Git, SVN).
- Expertise in continuous integration and deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins).
- Familiarity with tools like Docker, Chef, Puppet, and Kubernetes.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python and Perl.
- Experience with Linux and Windows, and knowledge of LDAP administration.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management.
- Good knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMWare, VCenter, Hypervisor).
