Summary: The role of DevOps Engineer focuses on designing, building, and maintaining cloud-native infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, with an emphasis on container platforms and Kubernetes. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Manage container images and security scanning using Azure Container Registry (ACR)
- Support containerized and serverless workloads using ACI and Azure App Services
- Configure and operate Azure API Management (APIM) including policies and authentication
- Lead application containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
- Build and maintain container-native CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (CircleCI/GitHub Actions beneficial)
- Implement container security, Pod Security Standards, network policies, and governance via Azure Policy
- Manage AKS cluster operations including upgrades, node pools, and autoscaling
- Integrate workloads with Azure Key Vault and ensure strong IAM/RBAC controls
- Implement monitoring using Azure Monitor for Containers
- Respond to incidents, support root cause analysis, and maintain runbooks and documentation
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards (CQC, GDP, NMC, GPHC, ICO)
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and container platforms
- Certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or AKS-focused credentials
- Proven experience designing and operating AKS clusters
- Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and container orchestration
- Advanced CI/CD pipeline experience in Azure DevOps
- Solid understanding of cloud security, IAM, and compliance frameworks
- Strong communication skills with a passion for mentoring and documentation
