Devops Engineer \ AWS Platform Engineer; SC cleared, Outside IR35

Summary: The role of DevOps Engineer / AWS Platform Engineer requires an individual with extensive experience in AWS technologies and a strong focus on cloud security. The position is based in Solihull and requires active SC and NPPV3 clearance. The candidate will work 2-3 days a week from the office, contributing to the development and maintenance of AWS-based cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain AWS-based cloud solutions with a focus on best practice cloud security.
• Utilize AWS networking, provisioning infrastructure using Terraform, and manage VMs with tools like Vagrant.
• Implement automation in a 24x7 uptime AWS environment using configuration management tools.
• Perform DBA tasks including performance tuning SQL queries and configuring Postgres/Aurora DB.
• Configure and maintain various systems and tools including Open LDAP, Jenkins, Docker, and Nginx.
• Analyze and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues.
• Automate software package installations and conduct security scanning.
• Utilize tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for incident and change management.

Key Skills:

• 10+ years of experience with AWS technologies (EC2, ECS, RDS, etc.)
• Expertise in AWS networking (VPC, NACLs, route53, etc.)
• Proficiency in Terraform and Vagrant for infrastructure provisioning.
• Strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, PowerShell).
• Experience with Jaspersoft, Docker, and system monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus).
• DBA experience with SQL and Postgres/Aurora DB.
• Knowledge of Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines using Groovy script.
• Experience with Nessus security scanning and antivirus tools.

• 10+ years of experience with a broad range of AWS technologies (eg, EC2, ECS, RDS, ELB, EBS, EFS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, SSM, HSM) to develop and maintain an AWS-based cloud solution, with an emphasis on best practice cloud security.
• Expertise in AWS networking using VPC, NACLs, route53, transit gateways and VIFs.
• Expertise in provisioning infrastructure using Terraform and VMs with tools such as Vagrant.
• Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime AWS environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools.
• Experience in Jaspersoft reporting tool.
• DBA experience in performance tuning SQL queries and Postgres/Aurora DB config.
• Strong Scripting skills (eg Shell, Python, PowerShell) and automation skills.
• Experience in configuring Open LDAP
