DevOps Engineer - Active SC, Linux, AWS

Summary: The role of DevOps Engineer requires candidates with Active SC Clearance to work primarily in a remote capacity for a consultancy serving the Public Sector. The position demands strong expertise in Linux, AWS, and Kubernetes, along with proficiency in containerization and automation tools. Candidates will be responsible for implementing CI/CD pipelines and ensuring high-availability environments. This is a 6-month contract position with a competitive daily rate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work as a DevOps Engineer within the Public Sector.
• Utilize Active SC Clearance.
• Manage Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), AWS, and high-availability Kubernetes environments (EKS/RKE).
• Implement containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) and Git version control.
• Utilize monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Work with data and streaming technologies including Kafka, MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer in the Public Sector.
• Active SC Clearance.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Proficient in Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Experience with Terraform and Ansible for IaC and automation.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

My client is an instantly recognisable consultancy who require 2 DevOps Engineers with Active SC Clearance for an end client within the Public Sector.

Key Requirements:

• Proven commercial experience working as a DevOps Engineer within the Public Sector.
• Active SC Clearance.
• Strong experience with Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), AWS, and high-availability Kubernetes environments (EKS/RKE) including load balancing and multi-site failover.
• Proficient in containerisation and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Skilled in IaC and automation with Terraform, Ansible, and supporting cloud-native platform modernisation.
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI), Git version control, and automated delivery practices.
• Experienced with monitoring and observability tooling such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Knowledge of data and streaming technologies including Kafka, MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, plus PKI, secrets management, and IAM.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice to have:

• Puppet, KeyCloak, Vault, and experience supporting microservice architectures.
