Summary: The Development Trimmer role involves joining a leading automotive design team in Gaydon, focusing on the development and finishing of seat interiors. Key Responsibilities:
- Full development, patterning, trimming, finishing and flitting.
- Assess and understand Seat functionality (airbags, climate etc).
- Continuous development of a product from early design to production intent.
- Machine Sewing, covering assembly and decorative stitch and development stitching.
- Hand sewing (baseball, euro stitch) would be ideal.
- Modification and development of seat foams (material on and off).
- Working with a wide range of natural and synthetic soft materials (leather, PVCs etc).
- CAD understanding, being able to highlight potential trim issues on screen.
- Flexibility in working hours as per business needs.
Key Skills:
- Expertise in pattern development and machine sewing.
- Experience with component trim fit & finish.
- Knowledge of seat functionality and modification of seat foams.
- Ability to work with various materials, including leather and PVCs.
- Understanding of CAD for identifying trim issues.

About the Role
This is your opportunity to join a leading, automotive manufacturer as a Seat Development Trimmer within their Automotive Design Team. Using your expertise in Pattern development, machine sewing and component trim fit & finish, you will elevate interior trim to new levels making designs come to life, pushing the boundaries of innovation and excellence!
The key duties and responsibilities of the Development Trimmer will include;
- Full development, patterning, trimming, finishing and flitting.
- Assess and understand Seat functionality (airbags, climate etc).

WORKING HOURS: 40 hours per week
Day Shift: 7.30 – 16.00pm (30min unpaid break)
PAY RATE: IRO £28.00 per hour PAYE uplifted to £37.61 per hour to be paid via Umbrella PAYE model.
Please note: this position is deemed INSIDE IR35, the final payrate offered will be determined by the employer following successful interview and will be inclusive of Assignment Rate, Holiday Pay and Apex Recruitments contribution towards Employer Social Costs
CONTRACT TYPE: This role is offered on an ongoing contract basis, with a long-term commitment until March 2026 prior to further extensions.
