Summary: The Development and Production Test Engineer – Electronic role at a leading Defence Organisation in Bolton involves providing essential test engineering support for electrical and electronic systems during production. The position requires substantial experience in testing and diagnosing complex systems down to component level, with a focus on ensuring quality and efficiency in manufacturing processes. The role offers hybrid working arrangements, requiring a minimum of three days on-site. Candidates with a background in Electronics, RF, and Microwave skills are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing test engineering support to operators on the shop floor, including the introduction of new test equipment.
• Testing and diagnosing complex electrical/electronic systems, sub-assemblies, and circuit cards down to component level.
• Generating test specifications, operator instructions, and technical reports based on higher-level requirements.
• Identifying remedial and corrective actions to facilitate manufacturing continuity following production test failures.
• Supporting meetings with Quality and Operations to provide updates on Test Engineering actions and investigations.

Key Skills:

• Minimum HNC level of Engineering qualifications or equivalent.
• Good understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement and test principles, and fault diagnosis techniques.
• Awareness of electrical/electronic sub-system and system design, integration, and test principles.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to generate technical documentation.
• Ability to plan and organise work according to assigned priorities.
• Knowledge of RF and Microwave technology at the subsystem level (advantageous).
• Experience in operating manual and automated test equipment in an Electronics Manufacturing environment (advantageous).
