Development And Production Test Engineer

Summary: The Production Test Engineer role is a 12-month contract position based in Bolton, focusing on testing and diagnosing complex electrical and electronic systems for a leading Defence and Aerospace company. The position requires collaboration with shopfloor operators and involves generating test specifications and technical reports. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of measurement principles and electrical systems, with opportunities for skill development within the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing test engineering support to operators on the shopfloor
• Testing and diagnosing complex electrical/electronic systems, sub-assemblies, and circuit cards down to component level
• Generating test specifications, operator instructions, and technical reports based on higher-level requirements
• Identifying remedial and corrective actions
• Supporting meetings with Quality and Operations to provide status updates on Test Engineering actions and investigations

Key Skills:

• A good understanding of measurement and test principles, and associated equipment down to component level
• Awareness of electrical/electronic sub-system and system design, integration, and test principles
• An understanding of RF and microwave technology at subsystem level
• An understanding of Environmental testing (including ESS)
• Manual handling training
• ESD training
