Summary: The Developer role is focused on enhancing a public sector client's transition from legacy finance systems to modern serverless microservices using AWS technologies. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders and emphasizes quality software development within an Agile framework. The role is hybrid, allowing for both on-site and remote work, and is initially set for a 6-month period. Candidates must possess significant AWS development experience and be comfortable with various programming languages and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborative development of new serverless microservices using AWS Lambda functions and Typescript/JavaScript.
• Support and maintain legacy systems while transitioning to new solutions.
• Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver value.
• Design and implement solutions using service-based and serverless architecture.
• Ensure high-quality software development through collaboration and teamwork.
• Work within Agile delivery models, such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Define infrastructure-as-code and utilize cloud monitoring tools.
• Apply formal XP engineering techniques, including Pair Programming and Test Driven Development.

Key Skills:

• Significant commercial experience with AWS technologies (CDK, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, Cloud Formation, Aurora/Postgres).
• Proficiency in Typescript (or modern JavaScript) and Node.
• Experience with Vanilla ReactJS and/or NextJS, Java, and SpringBoot.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience in Agile delivery models (Scrum/Kanban).
• Knowledge of GDS or Digital First quality standards.
• Experience with cloud monitoring and telemetry tools.
• Familiarity with human-centred design practices and testing frameworks.
