Summary: The role of Developer involves collaborating on the development of new serverless microservices using AWS technologies, specifically targeting the transition from legacy finance systems. The role is based in Edinburgh with hybrid working arrangements for an initial six-month contract. The position has been classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborative development of serverless microservices using AWS Lambda functions and Typescript/JavaScript.
• Support and enhance legacy systems while transitioning to new solutions.
• Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver value.
• Implement solutions using service-based and serverless architecture.
• Utilize Agile delivery models such as Scrum and/or Kanban.
• Define infrastructure-as-code and apply formal XP engineering techniques.
• Ensure compliance with GDS or Digital First quality standards.

Key Skills:

• Significant commercial experience with AWS technologies including CDK, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, Cloud Formation, and Aurora/Postgres.
• Proficiency in Typescript (or modern JavaScript) and Node.
• Experience with Vanilla ReactJS and/or NextJS, Java, and SpringBoot.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience in Agile delivery models.
• Knowledge of cloud monitoring and telemetry tools.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code practices.
