Summary: The Dev Support Engineer role is a full-time position based in Glasgow, focused on providing Tier 1-2 support for AI development tools. The position requires working through an umbrella company due to its classification inside IR35. Candidates should have hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and a strong understanding of modern developer workflows. Additionally, experience in supporting large-scale user onboarding and incident management is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 1-2 developer support for approved AI development tools.
- Support large-scale user onboarding, enablement, and access provisioning.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools in a professional software development environment.
- Maintain a working knowledge of modern developer workflows including Git, CI/CD, and IDEs.
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and incident-triage skills across operating systems.
- Support a global developer population and work within a ticketing/ITSM platform.
Key Skills:
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
- Knowledge of modern developer workflows: Git, CI/CD, IDEs (VS Code/JetBrains).
- Strong troubleshooting and incident-triage skills.
- Experience with operating systems: macOS, Windows, Linux.
- Familiarity with ticketing/ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).

I am recruiting for a Dev Support Engineer to be based full time on site in Glasgow.
The role falls inside IR35 so you will be required to work through an umbrella company for the duration of the contract.
You will provide Tier 1-2 developer support for approved AI development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI, Cloud Agent, and Q3/Q4 tools such as Codex, Grok Critique, Gemini Code Assist).
You will also have experience of supporting large-scale user onboarding, enablement, and access provisioning across thousands of developers.
You will have hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or comparable) in a professional software development environment.
A working knowledge of modern developer workflows: Git, CI/CD, IDEs (VS Code/JetBrains), terminal/shell is essential.
You must have strong troubleshooting and incident-triage skills; comfortable working across operating systems (macOS, Windows, Linux).
Experience supporting a global developer population and working within a ticketing/ITSM platform (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar).
