Summary: The role of Sheet Detail Fitter at Hamble Aerostructures Limited involves working with sheet metals to produce high-quality aerospace components. Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting engineering drawings, repair schemes, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Performing hand/machine-aided forming techniques to create components.
  • Operating machinery such as stretch forming machines and rolling machines.
  • Fabricating metal components using techniques like bending, cutting, shrinking, and stretching.
  • Completing route cards for traceability and complying with EHS and COSHH regulations.

Key Skills:

  • Relevant NVQ Level 3, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Expertise in TIG welding, particularly with aluminum alloys.
  • Certification equivalent to BCAR A8-10 or relevant aerospace standards.
  • Proven ability to interpret engineering documents and evaluate components.
  • BPSS clearance required and adherence to ITAR restrictions.
