Summary: The Desktop Support Engineer will manage IT systems and assets, providing essential support and training to enhance operational efficiency. This role requires extensive knowledge of hardware, software, and network maintenance, with a focus on customer interaction and problem-solving. The engineer will work closely with employees to address IT issues and support new technology implementations. The position is based in Rugby and involves hands-on support across various commercial sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serving new commercial sites regarding network installation and site connectivity.
  • Supporting commercial sites with workplace support and IT issues.
  • Providing IT and workplace support to business locations in a specific region.
  • Acting as an IT concierge service for troubleshooting IT issues.
  • Responding to issues via phone, email, in person, or online chats.
  • Maintaining and resolving open incidents/tasks within the ticket queue.
  • Partnering with the Digital Workplace Solutions Team on new technology projects.
  • Providing onsite support for other IT teams.
  • Ensuring compliance with business policies and IT security standards.
  • Analyzing and resolving complex hardware and software issues.
  • Communicating technical information to various audiences.
  • Performing other duties as specified by the leadership team.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Management, or related field, or a minimum of 1 year of relevant IT experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with client (PC) technologies and support services.
  • Familiarity with different operating systems like Windows 10 and 11/MAC OS.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and unified communications technologies.
  • Knowledge of AV Cisco Telepresence equipment and local network infrastructure management.
  • Basic knowledge of server administration and management of small projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and client relationships.
  • Customer service focus and proactive attitude towards business needs.

Salary (Rate): £25.00
