Summary: The Desktop Support Engineer will manage IT systems and assets, providing essential support and training while ensuring efficient operations across the company. This role requires extensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network maintenance, with a focus on enhancing workplace productivity. The engineer will engage with employees to troubleshoot issues and implement new technologies, contributing to the overall growth of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve new commercial sites regarding network installation and site connectivity.
- Support commercial sites with workplace support and IT issues.
- Provide IT and workplace support to business locations in a specific region.
- Act as IT concierge service for end-user troubleshooting.
- Respond to issues via phone, email, in person, or online chats.
- Determine troubleshooting solutions based on customer issues.
- Guide customers through troubleshooting processes.
- Be the focal point for local IT issues including client, mobility, wireless, AV, and physical connectivity.
- Maintain and resolve open incidents/tasks within the ticket queue.
- Partner with Digital Workplace Solutions Team on new technology projects.
- Provide onsite support for other IT teams.
- Ensure compliance with business policies and IT security standards.
- Deliver customer service for IT support issues.
- Analyze and resolve complex hardware and software issues.
- Establish working relationships with customers.
- Communicate technical information effectively to all organizational levels.
- Participate in various teams and perform other duties as specified by leadership.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Management, or related field, or 1 year of relevant IT experience.
- 1 year of experience with client (PC) technologies and support services.
- Technical expertise in Windows 10 and 11, MAC OS, Microsoft Teams, and AV technologies.
- Knowledge of local network infrastructure management and basic server administration.
- Experience in mission-critical IT operations support environments.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and client relationships.
- Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
- Capacity to propose innovative technical solutions.
