Desktop Support Engineer - Redhill - 3 days a week- 6/7 weeks (Part Time Contract)
We are looking for 2 Desktop Engineers to provide on-site IT support at our cleints Redhill location.
The engineers will support an ongoing desktop technology project, while also providing day-to-day BAU desktop support to users on-site. The successful candidates will need to be confident working directly with end users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with the deployment and configuration of desktop equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring engineers who can work independently, manage competing priorities and provide a professional level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site desktop support to users at the Redhill office.
- Support the delivery of the ongoing desktop project, including deployment, configuration and replacement of desktop equipment.
- Provide BAU desktop support alongside project activities.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system and peripheral issues.
- Build, configure and deploy desktops, laptops, monitors and associated peripherals.
- Assist with device moves, installations, replacements and user setups.
- Troubleshoot issues relating to Windows, Microsoft 365, printers, networking and standard desktop applications.
- Support user onboarding and equipment provisioning where required.
- Log and maintain accurate records of incidents, requests and project activities.
- Escalate more complex technical issues to the appropriate support teams.
- Work closely with other IT teams and project resources to ensure smooth delivery.
- Provide a professional and customer-focused service to all users.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working as a Desktop Engineer/EUC Engineer/2nd Line Support Engineer.
- Strong hands-on desktop support experience.
- Experience supporting users on-site within a corporate environment.
- Good knowledge of Windows 10/11.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and common desktop applications.
- Experience building, configuring and deploying laptops/desktops.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of desktop hardware, peripherals and printers.
- Experience working within an ITIL/service desk environment.
- Ability to manage BAU support alongside project-based activities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider IT team.
