Summary: The Design Manager role in the Nuclear & Power Division focuses on leading complex engineering projects within the Nuclear New Build business. The position emphasizes collaboration in a diverse and inclusive environment, supporting the delivery of major nuclear projects across the UK and beyond. Candidates will manage design teams, coordinate multidisciplinary contributions, and ensure project deliverables meet client expectations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of complex design projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
  • Assist in the implementation of the project BIM strategy, utilising integrated design tools and data management systems.
  • Coordinate contributions from multiple disciplines to achieve cohesive, integrated solutions.
  • Manage a design team, ensuring the team's output aligns with client requirements and project goals.
  • Coordinate design activities across various disciplines and liaise with clients and team members to ensure the timely production of deliverables.
  • Oversee the management of project deliverables in coordination with the Document Controller.
  • Facilitate communication between Information Managers, Technical Leads, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support the Project Manager with progress reporting and client communication.
  • Assist the Engineering Manager in change management processes as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Ensure effective integration across workstreams and areas.
  • Lead the development of the design programme and manage its implementation.
  • Promote and manage the implementation of digitally progressive processes and techniques.
