Summary: The Design Manager for an Interior Fit-Out Subcontractor will oversee the daily operations of the design team, ensuring effective delegation and management of design tasks. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design team on a day-to-day basis.
  • Delegate work to the design team.
  • Check drawings (work produced) as required.
  • Undertake staff reviews as required.
  • Take responsibility with resourcing as required.
  • Train other staff members as/if required.
  • Actively promote continuous improvement.
  • Attend design business meetings as required.
  • Attend design meetings both internally & externally with clients, designers & architects.
  • Assist the sales team as required.
  • Program drawing works to the satisfaction of the business and to suit commitments.
  • Notify your line manager of any problems or concerns at the earliest convenience.
  • Take care of company property and report any defects.

Key Skills:

  • Experience managing a design team is essential.
  • Good understanding of MF (ceiling) systems would be highly beneficial.
  • A design flair to understand architectural details and origination would be very beneficial.
  • Good knowledge of 2D AutoCAD is essential.
  • Familiarity with 3D related software such as SolidWorks or Revit.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

The Company My client is a leading interior specialist sub-contractors working alongside blue chip contractors on some of the most prestigious landmark projects in the Central London.

The Design Manager Role Anexcitingpositionworkingaspartofateammanagingtheday-to-day activities of the design team. The candidate will be required to have acan doattitude and be proactive in their approach. They will report to the Contracts Director and work closely with the Contracts Managers, Production Manager and sales team. Attention to detail & accuracy of information is required in this role. Use of AutoCAD, Microsoft office is essential as well as good verbal and written skills.
