Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the creative process hands-on from brief to execution across various projects in Global Travel Retail, Visual Merchandising, and Pop-ups.
  • Self-generate concept brainstorming, design sketches, material mood boards, and 3D visualizations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to meet business needs through creative brainstorming and design.
  • Design environments that balance brand storytelling, consumer journey, and commercial constraints.
  • Communicate design vision and guide stakeholders through the design process while protecting design intent.
  • Push the boundaries of design projects by staying updated on trends in materiality and spatial design.
  • Deliver production-ready designs, final design files, and technical specifications for global deployment.
  • Direct the development of prototypes/mockups with suppliers, ensuring design integrity and operational excellence.

Key Skills:

  • BA/BS and/or MA/MS in a relevant design field.

Job Description : Design Lead Oral Smokeless

Location: London (Hybrid)

Contract Position


Purpose:
To create and deliver compelling spatial and experiential design concepts and translate them into executable, high-quality solutions for deployment. In Global Travel Retail, Pop-up design and Visual Merchandising for the Oral Smokeless Category. The role bridges creative vision and technical execution, with deep knowledge and expertise in materiality, owning the journey from concept thinking to 3D design to supplier-ready solutions.


Accountability:

Creative-doing: Able to drive the creative process hands-on in all phases, develop spatial and experiential design concepts from brief to execution. Across specific projects or activities in Global Travel Retail/VM/Pop-ups design. This includes the ability to self-generate concept brainstorming, design concept sketches, scenarios & material mood boards, fast 3D visualization and refined presentations of the design thinking and work . Ability to collaborate hands-on with suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve the business needs, not only by briefing them, but by being part of the creative brainstorming, designing and down selecting.

Creative strategic thinking: Able to design environments that balance brand

storytelling, consumer journey, and commercial constraints aligned with business & brand strategy objectives. Delivering compelling creative solutions that fully answer the brief on all kinds of assigned projects, spanning across: GTR, VM, pop-ups and brand engagement.

Drives design: Able to communicate design vision concept, refinement, and

development of the global design DNA, across formats and design elements (incl. the expression for restricted markets), on specific projects or activities. Guiding stakeholders through design with clarity and confidence. Protect design intent while remaining pragmatic about cost, timeline, and build constraints both, internally and with suppliers.

Design finesse: Able to creatively push the boundaries of design projects with an

eye for the latest standards & trends in materiality, spatial and experiential design; continuously improving the design and driving disruptive innovation. Define and refine materials, finishes, proportions, and detailing to achieve high-quality outcomes.

Design Delivery
1. Deliver designs that are ready for production and build, not just conceptual.
2. Deliver final design files, technical specifications, deep knowledge in materials and finish to enable mockups/prototypes & colour target/samples for global commercial deployment.
3. Direct development prototypes/mockups with lead supplier, that are commercially viable and in accordance with PMI principles, whilst setting new standards in executional and operational excellence, ensuring design concept integrity.


Key Competencies & skills:
* BA/BS and/or MA/MS in a relevant design field.
* Minimum 6+ years of relevant design experience (corporate /consultancy), with proven success cases in the market.
* Good understanding of manufacturing technologies and international design
standards.
* Holistic design expertise and hands-on design across several design subject
areas (3D, product display, retail, understanding of brand, viz. ID) with a strong background in spatial and experiential design.
* Good communicator (verbal, written, and visual), strong storyteller with the ability
to influence and build consensus both within a cross-functional and design team.
Ability to present effectively and influence both peers, and more senior
stakeholders.
* Collaboration mind set: Strong team player with ability to actively promote
information sharing, one team spirit, and leading by example and showing rather
than telling.
* Excellent sense of form, materials, use of colour and breadth of creative expression with an affinity for how things are made, an eye for detail, and a passion for quality from concept to execution with strong understanding of materials and processes.
