Design Engineer 6 Month (Initial contract) Hybrid/Bristol £50-52 per hour (OUTSIDE IR35) An EVTOL company in Bristol is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of high-performance, safety-critical lithium-ion battery systems for electric aviation. What they're looking for Strong technical expertise in lithium-ion batteries , ideally from automotive, aerospace or another technically complex industry. Excellent systems engineering knowledge and experience working across multidisciplinary teams. Proven ability to own engineering work packages , proactively manage interfaces and drive technical delivery. Strong experience with CATIA and/or 3DEXPERIENCE . Technical leadership experience; people leadership would be advantageous. Expertise in one or more of the following: Composite design Liquid cooling system design Injection moulding Thermal runaway / battery fire protection We are looking for someone who combines deep technical knowledge with a hands-on, delivery-focused approach , and who can work effectively across a fast-paced, multidisciplinary aerospace environment.
