Summary: The role of Contract Draughtsman involves producing detailed engineering drawings and models using SolidWorks for marine and offshore projects. The position requires collaboration with engineers and project teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining drawing standards and supporting design reviews. This is a six-month contract based in Glasgow with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create accurate 2D and 3D drawings and models using SolidWorks.
- Interpret engineering specifications and convert them into detailed designs.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain drawing standards and document control procedures.
- Support design reviews and provide technical input where required.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Draughtsman in a mechanical or marine engineering environment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (essential).
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes such as fabrication drawings.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
