Design Approver for eVTOL

Summary: The Design Approver for eVTOL will join an engineering services organization in Bristol on an initial 12-month contract, focusing on aircraft structures. The role requires expertise in design approval and engineering services for prototype electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with engineering teams. The position involves both design and design checking responsibilities, ensuring compatibility with systems integration. Hybrid working arrangements are available, with some required attendance at customer facilities for meetings and reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide design and build services for prototype eVTOL aircraft.
• Deliver professional design engineering services, including design checking capability.
• Create and cross-check model-based definitions within the 3D Experience digital mock-up.
• Coordinate with Systems Integration team members to ensure design compatibility.
• Manage execution of work packages and align delivery plans with customer requirements.
• Define design solutions for new components and modifications to existing components.

Key Skills:

• Design Approver Signatory on airframe structure (metallic and/or composite).
• Excellent knowledge of aero structures, including wing, empennage, and fuselage.
• Proficient in computerized design and analysis methods (CATIA V5).
• Experience with GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
• Good knowledge of aerospace composite and metallic materials and manufacturing processes.
• Awareness of aircraft industry standards, regulations, and qualification requirements.
