Design Approver for eVTOL

Summary: The Design Approver for eVTOL will engage in a 12-month contract role focused on providing design and engineering services for prototype electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft. The position requires expertise in airframe structure design and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams to ensure design compatibility. The role involves both design approval and checking, utilizing advanced digital mock-up tools. Hybrid working arrangements are available, with some required attendance at customer facilities for key meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide design and build services for prototype eVTOL aircraft.
• Deliver professional design engineering services, including design checking capability.
• Create and cross-check model-based definitions within the 3D Experience digital mock-up.
• Coordinate with Systems Integration team members to ensure design compatibility.
• Manage execution of work packages and align delivery plans with customer requirements.
• Define design solutions for new components and modifications to existing components.

Key Skills:

• Design Approver Signatory on airframe structure (metallic and/or composite).
• Excellent knowledge of aero structures, including wing, empennage, and fuselage.
• Proficient in computerized design and analysis methods (CATIA V5).
• Experience with GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
• Good knowledge of aerospace composite and metallic materials and manufacturing processes.
• Awareness of aircraft industry standards, regulations, and qualification requirements.
