Summary: The Deputy Director Credit Risk & Portfolio Manager will lead a team focused on managing a portfolio of high-risk SME loans, ensuring effective credit and investment decisions. This role involves a mix of home and fieldwork, with potential office visits in the South West region. The position requires collaboration with senior stakeholders to enhance responsible lending practices and develop financial strategies. The contract is initially for six months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of credit and investment specialists and debt portfolio management experts to manage a portfolio of high-risk SME loans.
- Make credit, investment, and recovery decisions within a personal delegation framework.
- Support the Heads of Function for Credit and Portfolio in systematizing the client's approach to responsible lending and debt management.
Key Skills:
- Qualified or substantial equivalent experience in SME lending and/or investment decisions in relevant financial environments.
- Experience in originating and maintaining a portfolio of SME loan assets as a senior or mezzanine/structured finance lender.
- Leadership experience and ability to work with senior stakeholders on policy initiatives.
- Experience in launching new financial products and developing risk and finance strategies.
- Understanding of fair value accounting in the context of IFRS9.
- Experience in client management and providing feedback on credit decisions.
