Summary: The Demand Manager role at Portakabin involves developing and implementing demand planning strategies to enhance forecasting accuracy and stakeholder collaboration. This position is based in York and is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, allowing for one day of remote work per week after training. The ideal candidate will have experience in demand planning and team management, contributing to continuous improvement in supply chain processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellence in demand planning to increase On Time In Full (OTIF) and reduce module inventory.
  • Develop, implement and control a robust Europe-wide demand planning process, working with stakeholders to implement corrective actions and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Deliver scenario planning and provide financial analysis to influence business-wide decision making.
  • Ensure the demand plan is fully aligned with the supply plan and finance requirements through the sales and operations planning process.
  • Identify demand forecast risks, troubleshoot issues and develop effective mitigation plans for demand bottlenecks.
  • Establish timely and effective escalation and reporting procedures to ensure visibility and action.
  • Responsible to manage order to delivery process for spare parts and modules, working collaboratively with manufacturing, stores and scheduling to provide the best customer service.
  • Drive continuous improvement through root cause problem solving and corrective actions.
  • Monitor and optimise inventory while minimising aged stock, providing insight into planning improvements.
  • Manage daily and weekly demand delivery for business units, ensuring appropriate actions are taken and effective communication with business units and hire centres.
  • Manage a team of demand planners and controllers, coaching, mentoring and developing their skills set.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in demand planning or a similar supply chain planning role.
  • People management - experience of managing and developing teams.
  • Exposure to integrated business planning (IBP) and sales and operations planning (S&OP) processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with proven ability to influence senior level stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and application of continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience.
  • Demand Forecasting, Inventory Management, Production Planning, Data Analysis, Supplier Coordination, Quality Assurance, Cost Management, Reporting and Documentation, Process Improvement, Safety Standards.

We are looking for a Demand Manager to join our team at our head office in York for a 12 months fixed term contract. Must live local to York.

As a Demand Manager, your role and remit will be to develop and implement the demand planning strategy, ensuring accurate forecasting and effective collaboration with stakeholders to balance supply, cost and customer service.

Role Details:

Annual salary of up to £54,000 dependent on skills and experience.
Role based: – New Lane, Huntington, York, YO32 9PT
Contract type: 12 months fixed term contract – Once fully trained and competent in the role you can work from home 1 day per week
Annual leave of 25 days per annum plus bank holidays and opportunity to buy an additional 5 days each year.

In this role you will be required to:
