Job description: CAF Rolling Stock UK has an exciting opportunity for a Delivery Manager to join our DLR team, based in London (Beckton), on a fixed term contract until 31 July 2028 . This is a key role responsible for the successful delivery of project activities, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure programme objectives are met.  The role of the Delivery Manager is a diverse role that requires the successful candidate to operate across multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to CAF to achieve customer acceptance of the DLR Project. The Delivery Manager will report into the Head of Production with the daily support of the Depot Testing and Commissioning Manager. This position required (Spanish Language Intermediate level). Responsible for ensuring that the trains are coupled when they arrive on arrival Beckton from the International Manufacturing plant. Ensure that all pending points are closed prior to final inspection. This includes quality issues, material installation and modifications. Ensure vehicles are presented to the client to the agreed standard ready for passenger service. Manage final inspections prior to deliveries. Participate in the daily morning meetings to ascertain daily workload to support Testing runs and achieve customer acceptance. Monitoring material delivery to support project progress – NCRs, shortages, and modifications. Investigating manufacturing challenges and monitoring quality trends whilst answering technical queries from the operatives Monitoring staff performance and lead team of 4-6 operators Updating production schedules into Commissioning Schedule Monitoring production costs to ensure that targets are achieved on time within budget and within Quality standards Managing safe working practices and ensuring high environmental standards within the team Ensure personal compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy Deliver positive leadership and promote the adoption of best-in-class Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager Manage depot assets to ensure the depot is maintained in operational condition. Ensure safety controls are adhered to and all local procedures / regulations are respected (H&S / Safety Training). Develop lean methods to implement best practice within the depot Co-ordinate with the Training & Competency Manager, ensuring training and competency requirements are met in relation to the depot and its assets Desirable Educated to degree level in a relevant field, or significant proven experience in a similar level role. CAF has a presence in a number of facilities across the UK, these range from CAF being the leaseholder and facility operator to being a tenant in a pre-existing facility run by other Rolling Stock companies, either Train Operating Company or Rolling Stock Maintainer operating under a Train Services Agreement. The main objective of the Depots Manager is to co- ordinate with all stakeholders to ensure CAF are fulfilling their contractual objectives. This can include managing relationships between CAF and its depot access provider, and also include the management and upkeep of leased facilities including managing the facility upgrades as required. Responsible for ensuring trains are correctly coupled on arrival at Beckton from the International Manufacturing plant. Ensure all outstanding points are closed prior to final inspection, including quality issues, material installation, and modifications, ensuring vehicles meet the required standard for passenger service. Manage and conduct final inspections ahead of delivery and support testing activities to achieve customer acceptance. Participate in daily meetings to align workload and priorities. Monitor material availability, NCRs, shortages, and modifications to support project progress. Investigate manufacturing challenges, track quality trends, and respond to technical queries. Lead and monitor a team of 4–6 operators, ensuring effective performance and delivery. Update production and commissioning schedules and monitor costs to ensure delivery within budget and quality targets. Maintain safe working practices and ensure compliance with all HSE legislation and company policies. Promote best practices and ensure full adherence to company procedures. Support cross-functional activities as required and manage depot assets to maintain operational readiness. Ensure all safety controls and local procedures are followed. Drive continuous improvement through lean methods and coordinate with the Training & Competency Manager to ensure all training and competency requirements are met.
