Summary: The Defect Manager role involves overseeing defect management throughout various testing phases for Alpha Implementation projects, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders. The position requires creating and refining defect management processes, conducting root cause analyses, and facilitating defect triage sessions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Capital Markets and experience managing defects across multiple testing methodologies. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage defects through different test phases for Alpha Implementation projects, including SIT, Performance Test, Internal UAT and Client UAT.
- Create, review, and revise the Defect Management Process and gain approvals, including defining Severity and Priority levels.
- Host efficient Defect Triage Sessions with appropriate audience for each test phase, assigning defects to the correct team, and following up as required.
- Create and recommend concise Defect Reporting with Test Management to ensure transparency, traceability, and accountability.
- Collaborate with Test Management, Workstream Test Leads, test teams, internal stakeholders, and client stakeholders.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and coach teams on improving their RCA approach, including implementing mitigation actions to prevent recurrence.
- Work on multiple test phases, workstreams, and collaborate with teams concurrently.
- Assertively follow up with multiple development teams, vendor teams, and test teams to ensure defects are progressed.
Key Skills:
- 3-5 years as a Defect Manager in Capital Markets.
- Experience of Capital Markets, including FO, MO, BO, and Data Layer.
- Experience managing defects for functional, non-functional, business acceptance, and external client acceptance tests.
- Experience with Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid methodologies.
- Compelling attention to detail.
- Experience of Defect Management using Jira (nice to have).
- Experience of Charles River Investment Management Solutions (CRIMS) (nice to have).
