Summary: The DC Tech/Engineer role involves managing and troubleshooting datacenter infrastructure, including network and hardware issues, while supporting lab customers and maintaining documentation. The position requires hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment and VMware environments, along with strong analytical and communication skills. Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure provisioning and troubleshooting (rack and stack)
  • Managing CAI (Cloud and AI) equipment as per request from Engineers
  • Updating management systems and documentation
  • Troubleshooting networking and hardware issues
  • Handling requests from lab customers
  • Managing datacenter Infrastructure in RTP campus
  • Creating and resolving support tickets

Key Skills:

  • Managing network infrastructure - code upgrades, log file management, troubleshooting, configuring interfaces, access lists etc.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of Cisco IOS and/or NXOS
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of L2 and L3 Networking
  • Current knowledge of Cisco hardware
  • Ability to Manage VMware and UCS environment
  • Ability to image bare metal servers and install VMware vSphere
  • Ability to install Windows, Linux and appliance O/S on Virtual Machines
  • Ability to transfer files using FTP, TFTP, USB, etc.
  • Ability to open and manage cases / trouble tickets with third-party vendors
  • Demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting from Layer 1 through Layer 7 of the OSI model

Minimum Requirement, Skills & Attributes

  • Managing network infrastructure - code upgrades, log file management, troubleshooting, configuring interfaces, access lists etc.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of Cisco IOS and/or NXOS, including the latest code revisions, upgrading/downgrading code and the CLI.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of L2 and L3 Networking.
  • Current knowledge of Cisco hardware, including Network Modules, Interface Cards, Power over Ethernet, etc.
  • Ability to Manage VMware and UCS environment (managing and maintaining)
  • Ability to image bare metal servers and install VMware vSphere.
  • Ability to install Windows, Linux and appliance O/S on Virtual Machines.
