Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end SAP IQ (Sybase IQ) database administration, including monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization for analytics workloads.
  • Design and manage Near-Line Storage (NLS) strategies and integrate SAP IQ with SAP HANA for hybrid analytics and fast reporting.
  • Plan and execute upgrades, patching, migrations, and disaster recovery rehearsals; manage backup & recovery, replication, and failover procedures.
  • Champion database best practices, governance, schema design, compression, and indexing strategies for columnar/analytics stores.
  • Collaborate with data engineering, ETL, BI, and analytics teams to support high-volume data ingestion, SQL reporting, and SLA-driven availability.

  • Strong experience integrating NLS with SAP HANA and working with large-scale data warehousing solutions and columnar analytics.

We're working with a leading global IT services provider powering enterprise analytics on this exciting opportunity. Step into a hands-on Lead DBA role owning SAP IQ (Sybase IQ) environments that feed mission-critical analytics and large-scale data warehousing. You'll drive performance tuning, NLS integration with SAP HANA, and robust DR/upgrade processes — using your Sybase IQ expertise, SQL mastery and practical scripting skills (Bash/Python) to keep high-volume reporting platforms fast and reliable.

The Role
