Summary: The DB2 DBA Consultant role involves migrating databases from AIX to LINUX, managing HADR with multiple standbys, and performance tuning of DB2 databases. The position requires expertise in data movement utilities and understanding complex shell scripts for task automation. The consultant will also be responsible for capturing workloads from source databases and replaying them in target databases for testing purposes. Strong knowledge of DB2 architecture and management of DPF systems is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migrate databases from AIX to LINUX using various methods.
- Set up and manage HADR with multiple standbys.
- Capture real workloads from source databases and replay them in target databases.
- Perform performance tuning of databases using DBM, configuration parameters, and registry variables.
- Utilize data movement utilities like db2move, Export, Import, and Load.
- Manage DB2 Federation and understand complex shell scripts for automation.
- Perform DB2 restores and redirected restores in non-DPF and DPF setups.
- Manage DB2 DPF systems effectively.
Key Skills:

Job Description
Good experience or knowledge in migrating Databases from AIX to LINUX using different methods. Good knowledge on Q replication. Expertise in setting up and managing HADR with multiple standbys. Capturing real workloads from the Source database and replaying in the Target database for testing the workloads to right-size the DB2 VMs. Excellent knowledge on DB2 Process and Memory Architecture. Expertise on performance tuning of the Databases using different DBM, Database configuration parameters and registry variables. Good experience in data movement utilities like db2move,Export,Import and Load. Good experience on DB2 Federation. Good experience in understanding complex Shell scripts and automating the routine tasks. Good experience in performing DB2 Restores and Redirected restores in non-DPF and DPF setups. (DPF - Multi-partition Database partitioning database). Excellent knowledge and good experience in managing DB2 DPF systems.
