Summary: The role of Databricks Data Engineer involves delivering data engineering solutions for a banking client, focusing on hands-on development using Databricks and Azure within Agile teams. The position requires advanced expertise in Databricks and strong experience with Azure Data Factory and ETL processes. The candidate must have a minimum of five years of industry experience and a background in banking is preferred. This is a hybrid role based in Leeds, requiring two days a week on-site work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver data engineering solutions using Databricks and Azure.
- Participate in Agile delivery teams for development, testing, and analysis.
- Implement ETL/ELT processes and data modeling.
- Utilize Azure Data Factory, ADLS, and Azure SQL for data management.
- Engage in hands-on CI/CD and infrastructure automation using Azure DevOps and/or Terraform.
Key Skills:
- 5 years of industry experience.
- Advanced expertise in Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark, Python).
- Strong experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL.
- Proven ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data warehousing experience.
- Experience working in Agile squads.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
- Banking experience, preferably in retail banking or building societies.
Salary (Rate): £75.00/hr

A consultancy is looking for an experienced Databricks Data Engineer to deliver data engineering solutions for a banking client . The role involves hands-on development across Databricks and Azure within Agile delivery teams.
Key Requirements
- Must have 5 years industry experience
- Advanced Databricks expertise (Delta Lake, Spark, Python, performance optimisation)
- Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, ADLS and Azure SQL
- Proven ETL / ELT , data modelling and data warehousing experience
- Experience working in Agile squads , covering development, testing and analysis
- Hands-on CI/CD and infrastructure automation (Azure DevOps and/or Terraform)
- Banking experience required (retail banking or building societies preferred)
Interviews will be week commencing the 19th January.
