Summary: This role as a Database Manager at the British Museum involves managing and enhancing the Raiser’s Edge database to ensure data accuracy and support fundraising and membership initiatives. The position requires overseeing the Database team and managing key processes such as donation tracking and financial reporting. The successful candidate will also contribute to the development of data systems to accommodate future growth. This is a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and developing the Database team, including the Data Manager (Membership) and Database Assistant.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and security of donor and membership data in collaboration with the IS team.
  • Supporting the Senior Gifts and Planning Manager, Membership Services, and the Head of Planning and Operations in implementing effective systems for data quality.
  • Overseeing key data processes, including managing mailing lists, assisting with Gift Aid claims, and generating financial reports.
  • Providing training and support to staff on using Raiser’s Edge for fundraising and membership tasks.
  • Analysing data to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
  • Supporting data and systems development for future platform or infrastructure changes.

Key Skills:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in data management.
  • Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage membership and fundraising data processes.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Salary (Rate): £34,713
