Summary: The role of Database Engineer involves working with SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and C# .net within a banking environment in Central London. The position requires at least 5 years of experience in MS SQL Server and SSIS, focusing on developing systems to automate processes and providing technical support for bespoke systems. The engineer will also support budgeting and financial planning processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with a requirement for in-office presence at least three days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver new systems to automate and streamline processes for various departments.
- Support the internal IT department with software platform changes and upgrades.
- Act as the primary contact for technical questions related to in-house bespoke systems.
- Support budgeting and financial planning processes for the Finance department.
- Debug and analyze errors within the Hyperion system and liaise with Finance for smooth operations.
- Build data flows within the SQL environment using SSIS packages.
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and adhere to the Bank's Risk and Compliance policies.
- Execute controls to minimize risks of policy and regulatory breaches.
- Identify and escalate new risks or control gaps to management.
Key Skills:
- Degree level qualified or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience with MS SQL Server and SSIS.
- Proficiency in SQL programming and query language.
- Experience with SSRS and SSAS.
- Knowledge of data warehouse design concepts (Inmon or Kimball).
- Experience in software analysis and design.
- Familiarity with C# .net and asp.net is beneficial.
