Summary: The role of Database Administrator requires expertise in Cloudera and cloud data platforms, focusing on designing and deploying Cloudera clusters on AWS. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, provision, deploy, and configure Cloudera clusters based on customer needs.
- Utilize Cloudera cloud data platform (CDP) and services, along with the Hadoop ecosystem.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Manage CI/CD processes using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
- Develop scripts in Shell and Python for automation tasks.
- Leverage AWS services such as EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, RDS, Lambda, and Route 53 for cloud deployments.
- Ensure best practices in data processing and DevOps methodologies.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience with Cloudera CDP and Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, Impala, HDFS).
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Strong scripting skills in Shell and Python.

Our client currently seeks a Database Administrator with CloudEra experience to join their dynamic team on an initial 6 month contract. This role is Hybrid (2 days a week in office based in London).
Job requirements
- Extensive experience with Cloudera cloud data platform (CDP) and CDP Services and Big data knowledge.
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Strong hands-on experience with Cloudera CDP and Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, Impala, HDFS, etc.)
- Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Solid scripting skills in Shell and Python.
- Extensive experience in designing, provisioning, deploying and configurtion of the Cloudera cluster based on customer’s need
- Extensive experience in AWS service – EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, RDS, Lambda, Route 53 etc and should be able to design and deploy cloudera cluster on AWS cloud
