Summary: The Data Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and developing data infrastructure within the healthcare sector, focusing on performance, maintainability, and scalability of the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence architecture. This role requires technical expertise and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating with various departments. The position is offered on a temporary contract basis for 6 months. Candidates should have significant experience in a Data Warehouse or Informatics environment, preferably within the NHS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adapt, support, and develop technologies ensuring safe usage of the Trust Data Warehouse.
  • Provide technical advice on Data Warehousing and BI solutions.
  • Analyse complex queries and user requirements to enhance data accuracy.
  • Support the Information Services team with SQL development and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate to ensure high-quality information is delivered to stakeholders.
  • Manage the creation and operational maintenance of SUS and SLAM processes, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Conduct timely submissions of SUS and HES reports.
  • Plan and deliver specialist training for team members and stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior staff, assessing their development needs.

Key Skills:

  • Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Further qualifications in Information Technology or Informatics are desirable.
  • Significant experience in a Data Warehouse or Informatics environment, preferably within the NHS.
  • Proficiency in SQL (including T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI architecture and report development.
  • Expert knowledge of Data Warehousing techniques and principles.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex information clearly to various stakeholders.
  • Understanding of datasets and performance measures.

Position: Data Warehouse Specialist

Contract Length: 6 months

Daily Rate: £350 - £400 per day, outside IR35

Working Pattern: Full Time, Mon - Fri

Main Purpose of the Job:

As a Data Warehouse Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance, maintainability, and scalability of the business's Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence (BI) architecture. You'll work autonomously to achieve objectives while serving as a technical expert across departments.
