We're recruiting two Data Test Analysts to support a large-scale data migration for a major government department, moving its SAS estate (including SAS 9.4 and Viya 3.5 components) across to SAS Viya 4 on AWS.
You'll be responsible for validating data integrity, accuracy and functionality throughout the migration, ensuring the output meets both business requirements and departmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop test plans and cases for data migration, transformation and validation
- Define acceptance criteria for migrated datasets and analytical workflows
- Perform data reconciliation between the Legacy and target environments
- Validate ETL processes, data pipelines and reporting outputs
- Implement automated data validation scripts using SQL, Python or SAS
- Support integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Log, track and manage defects, working closely with Data Engineers
- Ensure testing adheres to security, GDPR and data governance standards
- Support UAT and provide evidence for sign-off
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in data testing and validation for large-scale migrations
- Confident writing and executing SQL queries for data comparison/profiling
- Knowledge of SAS technologies (9.4, Viya 3.x/4) and ETL/data integration frameworks
- Familiarity with test automation/scripting (Python, SAS) and Agile delivery tools (Jira, Confluence)
Desirable
- ISTQB Foundation/Advanced Test Analyst certification
- government or regulated sector experience
- AWS/containerized deployment knowledge.
