Summary: The Data Technical Specialist role within the Natural Capital and Ecosystems Assessment (NCEA) programme focuses on developing automated processes for analyzing monitoring data related to the Estuarine and Coastal water environment. The position involves building analytical tools, managing data solutions, and providing training to colleagues. This role is integral to enhancing the understanding of ecological outcomes through data management and analysis. The position is flexible in terms of working location, with a base at an EA office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build analytical data tools to process monitoring, ecological, and habitat data for national assessments.
- Develop data management solutions to support new coastal monitoring networks.
- Create guidance and automated features for tool handover to other users.
- Provide data skills training and support to colleagues.
Key Skills:
- Experience in data management and analysis.
- Ability to work as part of a dispersed team.
- Attention to detail and focus on quality.
- Experience with ETL applications such as SAFE FME.
- Familiarity with spatial data and tools like ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Enterprise, Power BI, ‘R’, SQL, and Python.
