Summary: The Data Technical Specialist role within the Natural Capital and Ecosystems Assessment (NCEA) programme focuses on developing automated processes for analyzing monitoring data related to the Estuarine and Coastal water environment. The position involves building analytical tools, data management solutions, and providing training to colleagues. This role is integral to enhancing the understanding and assessment of environmental conditions at a national scale. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a dispersed team to deliver high-quality data outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build analytical data tools to process monitoring, ecological, and habitat data for national assessments.
- Develop data management solutions to support new coastal monitoring networks.
- Create guidance and automated features for tool handover to other users.
- Provide data skills training and support to colleagues.
Key Skills:
- Experience with data management and analysis.
- Ability to work effectively in a dispersed team.
- Attention to detail and focus on quality in deliverables.
- Experience in developing automated data integration processes using ETL applications like SAFE FME.
