Summary: The Data Technical Specialist role within the Natural Capital and Ecosystems Assessment (NCEA) programme focuses on developing automated processes for analyzing environmental monitoring data. The position involves creating analytical tools and data management solutions to assess the state of estuarine and coastal waters in England. The role requires collaboration with various teams and providing training and support to colleagues. Key Responsibilities:
- Build analytical data tools to process monitoring, ecological, and habitat data for national assessments.
- Develop data management solutions to support new coastal monitoring networks.
- Create guidance and automated features for tool handover to other users.
- Provide data skills training and support to colleagues.
Key Skills:
- Experience in developing automated data integration processes in ETL applications such as SAFE FME.
- Proficiency in working with spatial data and tools like ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Enterprise, Power BI, ‘R’, SQL, and Python.
- Ability to work well in a dispersed team and focus on quality and attention to detail.
- Enjoy working with data and aligning analysis with customer needs.
- Familiarity with Environment Agency monitoring data and systems (beneficial but not essential).
