Summary: The Data Security Compliance Advisor role is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract focused on managing data subject requests under UK GDPR and enhancing compliance processes. The position requires collaboration with various departments to ensure efficient handling of requests and adherence to data protection legislation. The advisor will also contribute to training and communication efforts regarding data security compliance across the organization. This hybrid role involves working from home and attending the East Grinstead office 1-2 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end process of fulfilling data subject requests under UK GDPR.
- Enhance internal documentation and communication regarding data subject request processes.
- Collaborate on the development and integration of tools for data subject requests.
- Conduct reviews of existing assessment processes and create new ones as needed.
- Assist in optimizing record-keeping and assessment processes for compliance.
- Support the application of organization-wide data protection processes.
- Contribute to the refresh and communication of the Data Security Policy.
- Develop and execute data protection training and awareness campaigns.
- Assist the Data Protection Officer in communicating data security compliance importance.
- Provide well-written guidance in response to data protection inquiries.
- Represent the team in meetings and projects as required.
- Attend industry events to stay updated on data protection trends and legislation.
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of UK data protection law, including UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
- Recognized data protection qualifications (e.g., UK GDPR Practitioner, CIPP/E, CIPM).
- Experience fulfilling data subject requests under UK GDPR.
- Ability to provide guidance on UK data protection law to stakeholders.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to manage priorities.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining discretion.
- Collaborative and flexible working style.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office/O365.
